Bayside Summer Soiree Town Organized Event

The Bayside Summer Soiree is a weekly outdoor event set upon the beautiful shores of Georgian Bay in Penetanguishene.  The Bayside Summer Soiree is a great way to spend your Friday nights, listening to live music, entertainment, outdoor movies and much more all summer long from June to September! 

Event Location: Amphitheatre, 8 Owen Street, Penetanguishene, Ontario (Beside the Penetanguishene Curling Club)

7:00 PM| Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre


The Marsh by Moonlight Paddle Series features a guided voyageur style canoe tour through the sparkling moonlight waters of the Wye Marsh. Twinkling voyageur canoes and boardwalk, night noises, Bannock roasted over the open fire accompanied with a hot drink will make for an unforgettable night!

Connect with nature and experience the Wye Marsh in a way that not many people have the opportunity to!

   Where: Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre
   When: 9 pm-11pm on May 26, 27, June 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 &17

Classic Car Show Fundraiser External Community Event

Car show and fundraiser for Georgian Bay District Secondary School.

Come on over to 925 Hugel Ave June 3rd from 9am til 3pm and check out amazing cars. Help the students raise money for much needed sports field equipment. Bring your appetite as there will be a BBQ and vendor tents. Event runs rain or shine.

Rotary Champlain Wendat Park Walking Tour Town Organized Event

10:30 AM| Meeting Place - 8 Owen Street, Penetanguishene, ON

Take a walk with the staff of the Penetanguishene Centennial Museum & Archives and learn about the Indigenous and Franco-Ontarian history of our area through sculptures and art pieces in our park.
Tickets Are $7 each (children under 12 are free) and must be pre-purchased and are available by contacting the museum at museum@penetanguishene.ca or through our website www.pencenmuseum.com.

Downtown Historical Walking Tour Town Organized Event

10:30 AM| Meeting Place - 8 Owen Street, Penetanguishene, ON

Join the staff of the Penetanguishene Centennial Museum & Archives on a historical walking tour of downtown Penetanguishene. Take a step back in time to when oxen roamed the streets and fur traders came to our shores. Learn the history of and view original photographs of, many of the current homes and businesses on Water and Main Streets. Tickets are $7 each (FREE for children under 12) and must be pre-purchased. Tickets are available by contacting the museum at museum@penetanguishene.ca or through our website www.pencenmuseum.com.

Intro to Beekeeping Workshop External Community Event

9:30 AM| Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre

Want to be more self sufficient? Want to connect with nature? Learn the basics about keeping bees. Not only does this 10,000 year old tradition provide honey, the bees from each hive also pollinate tens of thousands of plants! This is one workshop you don’t want to miss. All materials are included.


Denise of Lady D's and Bonnie Bee Honey will provide a demonstration using the Wye Marsh bees, as well as speak on how to get your own hive started – what steps to take, what tools you need, the time commitment, etc.

 

Where: Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre

When: Saturday June 10th, 2023 from 9:30am-11:30am. (Raindate: June 17th, 2023 9:30-11:30am)

This workshop is subject to a minimum of 8 participants and a maximum of 15.

Bike Month, Bike Rodeo Town Organized Event

9:00 AM| McGuire Park

The Town of Penetanguishene is excited to host a Bike Rodeo for Bike Month on June 17, 2023. This event aims to promote cycling safety, active transportation, and community engagement.

The Bike Rodeo is a free event for children and families, and it will take place at McGuire Park from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. During this time, members of the public will not be able to park in the McGuire Park Parking lot. Parking is available on adjoining municipal streets.

Participants will have the opportunity to take part in a skills course including a helmet fitting, bike inspection, and safe riding procedures.

The Georgian Bay Women’s Cycling Club will be on hand to ensure all participants have a fun and safe experience. Participants will have the opportunity to win prizes, as well as receive free giveaways. 

“We’re thrilled to be hosting this event as part of Bike Month,” said Mayor Doug Rawson. “Cycling is a great way to stay active, reduce carbon emissions, and connect with our community.”

Parents are encouraged to attend with their children and bring their bikes and helmets for the event. The Bike Rodeo is a rain-or-shine event, and all participants are reminded to dress appropriately for the weather. Pressed Flower Card Workshop External Community Event

Enjoy giving blossoms from your garden, and nature, all year long. Create beautiful gift cards displaying pressed flowers.

Before e-cards, memes and Amazon, Victorians enjoyed crafting beautiful gift cards with pressed flowers from their garden. Now it is your turn reflect on the people you love, as you carefully arrange blossoms and petals into creative designs to mark a special occasion.

~ When: Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 10 am - 12 noon
~ How much: $30.00 per participant. Flowers and card stock provided. (Please bring tweezers)
